Great Lives Are Built On Great Habits

One of my most productive habits is to read everyday. A minimum of one to two hours of my day is dedicated to reading the best books on various subjects that interest me including self-help, motivation, leadership, business (auto) biographies of legends of the past and the present, relationships, and my new found interest in stocks and investments. Twenty minutes in to my readings and I feel a new high. I feel immensely motivated, inspired, more knowledgeable and powerful. Science says similar motivation occurs after a workout and the reason to it is that when we involve ourselves in such activities, our body produces and releases dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins-the neurotransmitters responsible for happiness. These activities make us feel good about ourselves. But here is another fact

What We Say is What We Become-Eventually!!

One of our favorite human hobbies on how to spend our time is chatting. Going beyond the popular belief that it is usually only the female population which is more interested in gossiping, men do it too. More of than not, unknowingly when they talk about what the boss told a co-worker, a political view on the future trends of the economy, how he finds his wife’s friends to be annoying and their non-sense talks.

My goal here to take you through this realization exercise is to establish a strong base-that we, as humans, love to talk, whatever it may be –’sense’ or ‘non-sense’, since psychologically speaking, talking and sharing our opinion makes us feel important, makes us feel that

Perseverance

Michael Jordan, one of the best athletes to have represented the game of basketball, was once quoted saying “I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions, I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

If that’s not enough, then remind yourself of the great inventor and scientist Thomas Edison who was labelled by his teachers early in school ‘too stupid to learn anything.’ It took this ‘too stupid’ fellow

How To Kill Procrastination?

The fact is that most of us procrastinate on something or the other. The bigger fact is that most of us somehow don’t procrastinate when we want to watch extra television, chat non-sense with colleagues at work, sleep-in an extra hour even when we are pressed on time, or when we have to find that additional three hours for the new movie in theaters which everybody has been talking about. I am definitely not saying not to conduct the activities mentioned above (talking non-sense is an exception), but I and am guessing even you might also be wondering right now how is that most of us always find time for such non-productive activities?

Daily Motivation Matters

Zig Ziglar said and I repeat his words here, “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing-that’s why we recommend it daily.” Now, if you can absorb that in your system, you may not even read further, but as what we hear and read influences what we become, I take this opportunity to persuade you that folks ‘Daily Motivation Matters.’
